whenever i meet desis on knowing my name and religion, automatically assume me to be a pakistani.  Just because i am am muslim and speak urdu.  i really don't like this stereotyping. 

i am very proud of being an indian and also a muslim.  indian muslims are different as chalk and cheese from pakistani muslims.  i am more comfortable with my hindu indian friends because of the shared culture. i am a devout muslim.  i grew up listening to stories about ramayana and mahabharatas. i can relate better with hindus of my own country than my co-religionists and co-linguists from another country.  i am a very proud muslim and an even prouder Indian.
